DINOSAURS ROUTES
THEY WERE HERE
Millions of years ago, Els Ports was inhabited by extraordinary beings. Until their extinction, some species of dinosaurs, like the Iguanodon or the newly discovered Morelladon Beltrani, walked through our lands, leaving proof of their existence, some remains that visitors can enjoy in our museums and sites.
Temps de Dinosaures Museum
, Morella
This center takes us into the fascinating world of geology and paleontology through its interesting collection of fossils from the Cretaceous.
Located next to the Church of Sant Miquel, Morella, this exhibition allows us to discover the fascinating past of our land, the time in which their valleys were formed, covered with water, leaving abundant valuable remains of marine life and some limestone elements.
For decades, in the region of Els Ports, paleontologists have been discovering these treasures, among which we can highlight the remains of various dinosaurs, with the Iguanodon as the protagonist and, more recently, the Morelladon Beltrani the last sauropod discovered in Morella and a milestone in the world of paleontological research.
