If you enjoy discovering spectacular spots, breathing the fresh air of our forests, seeing vultures, Spanish ibex and other animals, just look at high rocks in the middle of nature and feel the adrenaline that this produces, go to the Els Ports most spectacular viewpoints.
1. RAMBLA CELUMBRES
OBSERVE THE FLIGHT OF THE VULTURE
From the bird observatory of Cinctorres or from the Roca Roja (Red Rock) in Portell you can enjoy an impressive natural setting, the Rambla Celumbres ravine. In the Red Rock vultures lie to rest, and their leaps into the void are really worth seeing. To access, follow the road from Cinctorres to Portell and take the indicated detours.
2. LA DEVESA, FORCALL
AWESOME VIEWS
When passing Forcall, we find a detour that takes us to the Mola la Vila. Climbing to the top of the mountain, we will enjoy stunning views of Forcall.
3. SANT CRISTÓFOL HERMITAGE
BEHOLD GREAT PART OF THE REGION
Once past Forcall, we will take an indicated detour to the left indicated that takes us to the hermitage of Sant Cristófol. During the ascent we can visit the uninhabited village of Sarañana. After eight kilometers, we reach the hermitage, a place from which you can see various localities such as Cinctorres, Forcall, Morella or Castellfort and most part of the region.
4. HERBESET AND PEIRÓ DE SANT ANTONI
A SEA OF MOUNTAINS
Following the N-232, about ten kilometers after passing Morella, we will take the detour to the CV-105, which takes us to Herbeset. This town already has a beautiful panoramic view. But a kilometer before arriving, we will find the Peiró de Sant Antoni. From it, we will enjoy breathtaking mountain views.
5. MIRADORES OF THE TINENÇA DE BENIFASSÀ
CV-105 ROUTE FOR NATURE
Walking through the CV-105 means enjoying the Tinença of Benifassà. There, we will find numerous spectacular natural viewpoints, such as the view after the entrance of Fredes, where you can see the Ballestar and the Pobla de Benifassà, the church of Coratxà, Fredes, the Boixar … There exist a route by car to go from viewpoint to viewpoint and enjoy nature.
6. RAVINE OF LA FOS
AN AWESOME RAVINE
Barranc de la Fos is the most important ravine of Vilafranca, located to the southeast of the town, a few meters away from the last houses. In these views stand out the hermitage of Sant Cristófol de Benassal, the Peñagolosa (highest peak of the Valencian Community) and Mount Picaio.
7. TOSSAL GROS
IMPOSING
From the top of the Tossal Gros we see an extensive territory: the Maestrat, the mountains of Benifassà, part of Catalonia and Els Ports. In a deep we find Vallibona, dominating the course of the Cervol river, and in the distance rises imposing Morella.

In Els Ports we find different villages in which the passage of time has left its mark and today they are uninhabited or sparsely populated. However, discovering the districts of the region is to find little rural gems worth visiting.
A FILMING
LOCATION
The charm of Els Ports has not gone unnoticed for many commercial brands, which have chosen these lands to promote their products. Some of the most prominent promotional campaigns are:
“I am different” (Nikon Europe). This international brand shot its campaign of 2014 in Sevilla, Valencia, Barcelona and Morella.
VISA
” Samba de España” (Visa). Visa chose 32 filmmakers to show how the World Cup would be lived in each country taking part in the competition. The spot of Spain was shot in Barcelona and Morella (2014).
OBRINT PAS
The group Obrint Pas recorded the album “Benvingut al Paradís” in Cinctorres. In the country house Masnou, the group stayed there for a week to make the recording.
ELS PORTS
LAND OF CINEMA AND LITERATURE
The fascinating history of Els Ports and its charming corners have been a source of inspiration for many writers and filmmakers. Numerous novels, historical books, scientific or even poetic books have been written about this region. Writers as Manuel Vázquez Montalbán, Baroja, Camilo José Cela, Joan Fuster and Vicent Andrés Estellés, who are Spanish and Valencian references have found their inspiration in the region of Els Ports.
LAND AND FREEDOM
Regarding to the cinema in Els Ports, we can highlight the filming of “Land and Freedom” (“Land and Freedom”, Ken Loach, 1995), a film that competed for the Palme d’Or at Cannes and had a great critical success. He won the FIPRESCI Prize at Cannes and César Award for Best European Film of the European Film Academy. Film shot in the mountains of Els Ports, between Mirambel and Morella, which chronicles the struggle of a young communist from Liverpool during the Spanish Civil War. Other films that have been filmed in this area are “Amanecer de un sueño ” (Freddy Mes Franquesa, 2008), with Héctor Alterio and Alberto Ferreiro, “Tramontana” by (Carlos Pérez, 1991), with Emma Suárez and Jorge Sanz, “En brazos de la mujer madura” (Manuel Lombardero 1996) or “The End” (Jorge Torregrossa, 2012), with Clara Lago and Maribel Verdú. In the eighties, the famous series “Clase media”, with Antonio Resines and Charo López, also filmed in this area.
